In various ex-communist countries, Mothers Day is recognized as International Women’s Day. But second Sunday of May is the date when maximum countries celebrate Mothers Day. Mothers Day History, Importance & Fun Facts

Just like the world celebrates Fathers Day & Siblings Day, Mothers Day is celebrated to honor and credit the work done by all mothers across the globe. The mothers often do not get the deserved credit for all the duties they perform. The day honors all the mothers in the world. The mothers day became famous in the United States and India in the 20th century. Anna Jarvis first established Mothers Day in the United States in 1908. Ann Jarvis, mother of Anna Jarvis had started a community called ‘Mother’s Friendship Day’ in order to reunite the families which were divided during Civil War. Ann Jarvis died in 1905 and here daughter who was inspired by her mother continued her mother’s efforts.
